Thank you, everybody, for the condolences. He was certainly a "larger
than life" kind of character. He left a tremendous legacy in his kids
and grand kids. I know that his daughter has his stubbornness.

Yes, actually. Planning on it. I have almost 20 years of images of the farm.

Agreed. Not bad, though, for out-of-camera, semi-default B&W settings.
Fortunately, I shot RAW+JPEG, so I've got everything to work with.

Depends on the settings and lighting. I could have backed off the
setting a little bit, but this setting works better for the LCD on the
camera and gives a better representation of what I can do with it.
Still, it isn't bad. I was dealing with some harsh lighting, which
didn't give lots of subtlety in a Grade 4 1/2 representation.

RAW+JPEG. Quick turn-around was just the JPEGs. Eye-Fi card to the
rescue. Family was able to enjoy the pictures (which looked fantastic
on the iPAD) moments after we got back inside the house. For that, I'm
thankful for the bold settings as they looked more "complete" than a
friendlier to edit version.

Everything is there in the RAW files. No blown highlights that would
negatively affect the editable version.

Thank you. I have it in a horizon low position too. Not sure which one
will end up being used. It's the type of shot that I like to crop to
square. It's a picture that I might end up printing for MIL.

I think my two favorites of the bunch are ...812 and ...822. There is
a LOT going on with that tractor. BTW, notice the frayed tire? It's
still holding air. Both remaining tractors still run--at least this
one did about five years ago.
