Overcast here in Fort Bragg.

I've regularly pointed out here that summer is fog season on the Norcal coast.
You take your chances, as the relatively
few beautiful daysare randomly scattered in small groups among the relatively
common fog days - including those where
thick fog right down to the ground is driven in by strong winds.

As Carol was helping lead a workshop near Philo, we prepared ideas for a few
says RV camping either on the coast or inland.
We were lucky at the coast and have had clear skies mixed with partial
cloudiness - quite lovely.

Sunday night, we were on an almost deserted bluff above the ocean. A rather
desolate looking immediate area, mixedlow
cut, dusty grass, dirt, and a few wildflowers. But the ocean view was
spectacular. So we parked with the side door
facing the ocean, native grass and wildflowers, and suddenly, all was
beautiful. Then came a spectacular sunset and
moonrise. The bright moon transformed the area. We spent a lot of time sitting,
at first around the fire, wandering
around in the moonlight and watching the surf by moonlight.

Yesterday was off and on clouds; still no fog. This afternoon, the overcast
became solid, so no moon tonight. If things
look good tomorrow, we'll head down the coast, and with any luck have the
world's greatest chicken pot pie for dinner.
Otherwise, we'll be heading inland.

Either way, almost certainly no wi-fi.
