Brian,
I think that particular horse got out of the barn a long time ago.  You do
what pleases you.

Lightzone seems to be all about different effects.  It doesn't work for me,
which may be why my photos are now a little bland perhaps.  If I want to
jazz something up, I figure I can do it in PS pretty easily.  Even Velvia
scans look kind of weird to me now.

My son brought back a camera full of jpgs from Spain a couple years ago.
 He got on Photoshop and went right to the filters menu and munged up every
single photo one way or another.  Some of them looked quite interesting.
 No point in my talking to him about how to use PS "properly."  Oh yes, he
saved over the originals too.  Let a 100 flowers bloom.
