The only place in Fort Wayne that had a huge flag was Glenbrook
Dodge/Chrysler, a large new car dealership. Their flag is claimed to be
the second largest American flag owned by a private business in the USA.
Its 80 feet long!

You're right about the little used car lots coming and going fast. The
ones that have stayed longest have been buy-here pay-here places that prey
on the working poor. Many of them are part of big chains.

In advertising, it is generally thought a bad idea for small-businessmen
to appear in their commercials, because most lack the public speaking
skills and charisma needed to make a good impression on TV. Car dealers
are a notable exception, as are lawyers. Both jobs are best done by
charismatic people, so they are usually successful in appearing in their
own ads.
