My reasoning for using a reader is that carrying around a card reader is no
more onerous than a connecting cable for your camera; and using a card reader
does not require any further drain on your camera’s battery.
My IMac has a SD reader, so that’s easy; but my MacBook Air is the smaller one
without a card reader so I carry around one of those small SD reader jobbies.
