In my car, E10 gives me about a three MPG penalty, about 45 miles per tank.
There is no price difference here, and there are some places that sell only
gas without ethanol. It is equally hard to find premium without it, but in
that case I think it gives the octane boost.

The MPG penalty is pretty minimal, Bill, at least with E10. I've tried it
a couple of times with my Honda, E10, 87 octane vs E0, 93 octane, and the
difference per tankful is about 10-15 miles per tank. As for alleged price
advantage of E10, who knows? E0, 87 octane is not available anywhere to
compare.
