Bill I don't know where you live but if this trip is a one in a  
lifetime journey to Italy I would bring the gear I am most used to and  
forget my underpants and other irrrelevant goodies at home if it may  
help with packing up - Italian stores will provide you with the  
necessities of life wherever and whenever you want them ...
The alternative is an I-phone ...
