I usually don't do, "zoom with your feet."  For the main reason that for 
many places I frequent it wouldn't be advisable. I carry one of these in 
case I get careless...

...But speaking of 50mm. I just yesterday dug out the adapters and gave 
the 50/1.2 a walkabout. It was a bit dark and was blowing a gale so the 
pup and I took a walk in the woods rather than the usual bluffs .  Three 
quick ones to test landscape close up and bokeh. Not too shabby! Next on 
the list is the 180/2.8.
