Not really enough detail to understand what you're doing to be able to
offer any helpful suggestions. Like... are external or network disks
involved, is there any search/indexing service running, do you have a lot
of preview files in the catalog, do you store the edits in the LR database
or in external (xmp) files, ...
I think you just gotta wait.
What was it about Krogh's book that led you to want to split the catalog?
