Thanks! Lobstering is done for the year, except on some of the outer islands.
No shrimp season this year, which is what a lot of lobstermen do in the winter.
The gubberment said the shrimp were all gone. Most folks disagree, and suspect
they’ve all drifted up to cooler water in Canada.
Don’t know what to expect for lobster prices next year. I don’t think the
fishermen do, either. Lots of new cottage businesses starting up, though.
Selling fresh lobsters at a buck or two above boat price. Sometimes selling
them at boat price. Really good deals if you don’t mind cooking the bugs. (Last
year I don’t think boat price got above $5 a pound.)
