Depends on what you consider "acceptable".  I find that my m.Zuiko 
14-150 (a much lesser lens I'm sure) is perfectly acceptable to me for 
most of what I shoot.  I'll use the 12-50 as (I think) a better optic if 
I think what I'm going to shoot will be in range.  But the 14-150 is a 
great walk-around lens.
