The Royal Bedouin Desert

otherwise known as the Royal Jordanian Desert Police, are the division of
Jordan’s police force responsible for law enforcement in the vast desert
areas <http://themostalive.com/syrian-reflections-a-bus-to-palmyra/> of the
country. This police force still conducts its duties on camels to a
certain extend, however modern demands have led to most patrolling done by
four wheel drive. Despite being an operational para-military unit, The
Royal Bedouin Police maintain ceremonial duties wearing their traditional
desert drab uniform and headdress.
