Sounds like you should be in much better shape performance wise.  I have 
no idea what "Originals" is but all of the directories (with the 
exception of "Program Files") can be restored by simply copying from one 
drive to the other.  The contents of "Program Files" can only be 
restored by using the original install disks or install files and 
running through the installation process for all programs.  The reason 
for this is that installing a program adds many critical entries in the 
Windows Registry which is not part of the "Program Files" contents.

That should get you running again but I can't support a decision to stay 
with XP.  You will be very vulnerable once you get back on line and the 
vulnerability will increase with time.  You have chosen to make yourself 
a part of the "low hanging fruit" ripe for the picking.
