No. The bike is still sitting in the garage. Has not made it out for its first
ride of the season.

We were leaving a dinner with some friends outside of Bath, about 30 miles
south of here, and it was snowing. As we drove away from their house, one of my
headlights went out. Oddly, both high and low beam were gone. I’ve _never_ had
this happen before. Usually, the low goes but the high continues to work. The
thought of the other side failing kept me on edge. As we drove through a large
intersection in Bath proper, a police officer pulled me over to tell me my
headlamp was gone. It was 11 p.m., the witching hour on weekend nights for cops
and drunk drivers to find their lives intersecting. I’m sure that’s what he was
doing. But, like I said, me and the wife both have gray hair, we didn’t reek of
whisky, and the cop politely wished us well and told us to drive safely.

He also gave me a warning card to “remind” me to get the headlight fixed. As we
drove away, another “popeye” turned the corner and my cop whipped around in the
road and flipped on his blue lights. He was a busy fellow that night.

I got the light fixed the next day. No one seems to know why both high and low
beams failed simultaneously.
