Thanks, Moose.

That student is a different sort of chap; he wants to be a lawyer in the
military. He undergoes flying training because he feels that he ought to take
advantage of the opportunity while he is a member of the Squadron, but his
heart is not really in it. We had just flown some aerobatics, which he said he
would enjoy, but then was sick as I broke into the circuit (called a "pitch
into the closed" in USAF parlance – you zoom towards the runway, level at 500ft
and then roll into a steep turn to lose your speed for approach and landing).

He had not told me that he was feeling sick, and it was only when I noticed the
telltale flutter of a hand around a pocket on his flying suit that I realised
that he was reaching for a sick bag. As I turned off the runway I made the
mistake of opening the canopy to give him some air, but the wind whipped some
liquid on to my face. There is *always* something new to learn!

So he wasn't feeling too sharp, but felt that he had to stick around for the
"historic" occasion – a sense of duty . . . :-)
