True fox squirrels are nearly extinct in this area.  There is a Delmarva 
strain.........I saw one 30+ years ago.  I agree with you on the taste (but 
don't dare bring one home to cook).  Thanks for looking, Jim.

Growing up in Mississippi, in the 1930s, red ones like that were called "fox 
squirrels", because of the color. They were often a little larger than their 
gray cousins. They all tasted the same. :-)
