"Greenfield" is when you get to do something (build a building,
install a new system, etc) where there is nothing there to have to
work around or maintain. You start construction in a "green field". A
"brownfield" installation would be where something already exists or
had existed and you just have to conform to the oddities of the
situation. Everything else forces you to have to deal with what is
existing today, which you have to maintain, support or otherwise
service.

In the context of camera systems, if you are starting out fresh with
absolutely no existing system to support, work with or otherwise weigh
you down, that would be a "greenfield" system. Essentially, you have a
totally blank "shopping cart" on the B&H website and you get to fill
it with whatever you want without having to worry about compatibility
with anything else.
