Jaguar was purchased by Ford in February, 1990. Ford applied it's own
QC procedures to Jaguar production and quality did improve
significantly. However, I doubt there would be any visible change in
1990. Jaguar never did make a profit while under Ford ownership and
Ford sold it off to Tata Motors in 2008.

Yes. Sell it while it is running. :)
The specific age of it may make it OK. I think that 1990 was the
point where everything improved.1989 and older are junk. The 1990 and
newer seem to be much better.
