I don't understand your connections, your WD Live box seems only have HDMI or Composite output, obviously your TV does not have HDMI input, so you are connecting the composite output to your TV, it only gives you NTSC 480p quality.

I do not have a receiver but I believe if you connect the HDMI to your receiver, you only get HDMI out, it does not help your situation.

If your TV has component input then you need a HDMI to component converter, the "spendy" one on your last email looks good and with very good reviews. It gives better video quality provided you have a high quality source. The converter also gives you another input for the computer you planned to use.

What sort of output connector is your PC providing? VGA, DVI, or HDMI?
Sorry. Should have mentioned.

I'm using a network attached WD Live box for streaming content. CAT5e to WD Live box > hdmi out to converter to component inputs on receiver or TV.

FWIW I tried running through my receiver's hdmi (Pioneer VSX920) but couldn't get a signal to the TV. If I could get that to work I wouldn't need a converter but apparently I need to use the component inputs to output to component. ?? The WD box does have composite out, ugh! What's the point.
