     Actually, you should be able to get a Sigma or Tokina RMC 7-element 
teleconverter for Nikon-F on eBay.  I have a Sigma for OM and Tokina RMC for 
OM, Pentax K, and Nikon F/Ai and they all work well with little if any 
degredation.  There is presently a nice clean Tokina RMC doubler for Nikon FD 
available for less than $20:
