The only variation to this that I'll toss in, is the occasional Bill
OReilly Talking Points. That's the best five minute segment on any
cable news network. However, you must turn it off right at the
conclusion of it, because the talking heads will turn it into a
political hack job as they grind their axes.

Jon Stewart and Bill OReilly are the best.

As to NPR and BBC, back in the '90s, I worked supply-side to the
broadcast industry, but both of these were my own personal
playgrounds. I've probably spent more time inside NPR studios while
they've been on the air than any other non-employee. I always found it
fascinating how they took "hiding your own feelings" to an extreme.
There were some flaming liberals and a few extreme right-wingers in
the news organization, but once the microphone turned on, you really
had no idea who was who. Then whatherface took over and ran it into
the ground... The BBC types were an adventure. It was really obvious
that nobody who worked for the BBC liked the USA at all, but liked our
money. It made for some fascinating planning meetings.
