Yes indeed, it's a characteristic red ring (not a disc, just the ring) which
grows around the site of the tick bite. Lyme disease is insidious, and
debilitating in its tertiary stage - needs to be caught early. I hope it was
early enough for me...

I never saw the tick itself but once I had a strange red rash which prompted
the Doctor to put me on antibiotics.
