I’ve failed in my endeavour to persuade my brother to relinquish his lifestyle.
He is quite, quite happy. He doesn’t want to live in the warm to avoid having
to acclimatise himself again to working in the cold.

I’m here for another day, returning to Sofia on Friday. I have to decide
whether to go by train (picturesque, I can walk around, but takes 6-7 hours) or
coach (4 hours). I’ve already paid for a return ticket by coach, but since
that cost only 38Lv, or about EUR17, I can afford to go back by train if I like
And the journey by coach yesterday was a bit on the helter-skelter side,
hurtling through the dark and the fog on dodgy roads.
