sentence slightly and add quotes? Didn't McLuhan say: "The mangle
is the message." Adding "that" doesn't seem to fit at all there.
I didn't perceive that Chris implied that "that" had any particular
relevance.
"That" in that context seems to be a conjunction or perhaps a relative
pronoun
depending how you read it.
