Anyone out there sporting a Lumix DMC-FZ1000? It looks like a pretty nifty all-in-one. I read the DP Review, but as Moose has shown us numerous times, those must be read with a very critical eye, and my eyes ain’t so critical when it comes to the all-in-one.

When we go back to the UK this spring, I do not—DO NOT—intend on carrying a full kit. Well, that would be hard because I no longer have my Nikon kit. Guy in Salt Lake City does. Bought it lock, stock and barrel. So I’m down to a Fuji X-100s. I’ve thought about going FZ-1 or X-Pro, but I’m not sure at this point I want to start building another full kit, even if it is smaller and more manageable. And even if I do love me some Fuji.

I rather like the extended zoom on the FZ1000, but I know you give something up. I also like the f/2.8 all the way, but that makes it a little bigger. Might settle for shorter zoom if better image quality.

Suppose i’m wanting it all. Pro-grade results with amateur camera.

Suggestions invited. This is an area I have pretty steadfastly ignored since buying a G-12 some years back.
