The biggest surprise to me about the lenses was the extension of the
9-18. I'd never seen it in other than its collapsed state.
Caught me by surprise too, Chuck. Turn on the camera for the first time,
look through the viewfinder, nada. Oh shit! This was from ebay, new
seller with no feedback but cheap. A lot of hesitating 'watchers' on the
sidelines. It's from Alaska and description was not deceptive so I hit
the button and am now glad I did. The other one which ended about the
same time cost the winner an extra $50+ for an original box and more
feedback. Anyway, I step back and look at the screen and it says,
'please extend the lens'.. WTF? Took a bit of fiddling to get the
movement down and it works perfectly. A minor extra step each time you
fire up the camera but collapsed the thing is tiny! Definitely will be
going with me full time now.
Now to find something to pair it with...
