Jim:
Cumberland Heritage Village is a "working" village representing the 1930's made
up of many local buildings and a few replicas. It has, for example an original
period gas station (Imperial Oil). Quite a number were not open/lit up at this
time of year. There's a description here at:
http://www.biline.ca/Ottawa/content/cumberland.htm

Upper Canada Village is a working village from the 1860s, so represents a
different era.

Thanks. The Cumberland River begins in southern Kentucky, near where my Mother
was born, and flows through Nashville before emptying into the Ohio River, so
the name is well known in this area. I wondered if there might be a
connection. I never anticipated it to be north of the border!
