     No, I meant just what I said.  If I take a photo of a flower close up, I 
need to reduce the aperture to get all of the flower in focus.  This means that 
I will have more in-focus background clutter distracting attention from the 
subject.  By using a larger aperture at a greater distance with a telephoto 
lens, I'll be putting more of the background clutter OOF and thereby improving 
the attention to the subject.
