I've never heard of such a device, might catch on if it was well fitted so
that it didn't pop off too easily.  Of course it may be a bit problematic
with very wide lenses (vignetting).

     I was out hiking today along my favourite wildflower trail and took
over 100 photos, some of which will end up on Flickr this weekend.  While
taking all these photos, I came up with the thought that having an adapter
that I could screw an often-used filter onto and then simply clip it to the
lens like you would do with a side-pinch lens cap.  Anyone know of such a
device?
