We know Kodak made the E-1 sensor so good skin tones are not surprising. Who made the E-3 sensor? So, do you keep the E-1 around for that task alone? I keep the Canon 5D around just in case I need shallow depth of field.

I've been doing some portrait tests with the E-1 and E-3. It is very
interesting that if you are in non-mixed lighting, and you don't crank
the Lightroom settings too hard, you can get them to match pretty
close. But get some mixed lighting and go whacky with the settings,
and it's a whole different ballgame.

Same lens, same settings, same everything. The E-1 is certainly a bit
more intense in the reds and pinks. The E-3 turns skin yellowish. If I
work the hue and saturation settings, I can get the some things to
match, but other stuff goes really off the charts.

However, if you keep the settings near normal and your lighting is
halfway normal, there isn't much to prefer one over the other. But I
am reminded of why I missed the E-1 so much for portraiture.
