Interesting. I wonder why the restriction to f/8 or "wider". The only
thing I can think of is that diffraction would be limiting the
resolution such that the shifting would add no additional detail.

Spotted below statement in one review:
"Important to note is that the sensor shift mode will only work on Olympus Four

Odd they don't say MFT lenses--who proofs those reviews?
Perhaps the next update for Adobe CS/ CC or Viewer will do it.
