Love the first one, Jim.
That Cardinal is tack-sharp and drop-dead gorgeous!

I'm shooting it at f/4. If there is distance between the subject and the
background, it does pretty well. My problem is that I didn't place the
feeders with photography in mind. With the green metal feeder, the
background usually just fades away. With my other feeders, from where I
shoot, all I get in background is the white and red barn door.

Maybe I should just paint the barn black! :-)

Thanks for looking.

I've been seeing a few more birds, so I set up in a vantage point today
to try to get a start on the season. The first was made using the
Olympus E-510 and the Leica Telyt-R 250/4 on a tripod.

Then, deciding I needed focus peaking offered by the Fuji, I changed to
the X-E1 with the Leica Telyt-R 250/4.

Then I spotted the first backyard bunny I've had in several years, since
some development cleared some property across the road. He was a long
way off, but I grabbed a few shots anyway.

The focus peaking does make things much easier.

C & C welcomed.
