I'm not so sure about the color balance problem. I just pulled the
image below into ACR and set the temp +6 and the tint +56. It may not
look at all like the scene but my choice of balance looks pretty good to me.

I may try converting some of these to B&W to see how they compare with the
MM photos. Balancing the color with all of those sources of light is
impossible!
