I believe the better way is to use separate audio recorder then mix the
sound to the video track during editing (did that once for my son's
orchestra performance). Talking about Olympus audio recorder, we just back
from a family trip from Japan and purchased lots of souvenirs which
including a Olympus LS-14 and a 12-40/2.8. You just can't resist the low Yen rate :-)

I did my first simple test this afternoon recording the TV in the family
room from about 20 feet away. My family room is like an echo chamber and
the movie audio showed it... weak from 20 feet and very echo-y. So far I
haven't even bothered to hook up my rear surround sound speakers as the
only good sound in that room comes out of earphones. Next test will be to
record the bedroom TV from a closer distance. The bedroom doesn't have the
echos of the family room.

How does one mix audio from 2 sources to record on one camera? One source
perhaps is the instructor's lapel mike and the other mike somewhere in the
audience. So far I've only looked at Oly's stereo mike. No wireless
stuff there. Are the wireless mikes Bluetooth?
