The local Verizon store holds classes on the iPhone. I attended one session, and learned a few things. My eldest son is a computer professional who uses an Android phone but is quite knowledgeable of the iPhone, so I have a ready source of information. I have a book on order from Amazon, but I just looked at the shipping notice and found they say they are shipping the iPad version, not the iPhone version that I ordered. Will see what arrives tomorrow. :-(

One trick with the internet on an iPhone is to ignore Safari and download
the free Google app. It gives you the Google search page at a touch, and
for the most part the results are mobile-friendly sites. It's made my life
with iPhone so much easier. That said, there are still elements of the
phone that make me want to throw it off the rocks at Pemaquid.

If you have an Apple store nearby, check it for classes. I believe they are
free, and a lot of them are designed to teach old poops how to use the
technology. Joan and I have decided to take a few, as well as watch local
continuing education flyers, so we can be a little more aggressive at using
our devices, proactive rather than reactive. <g>

Hi Bob,

The camera part of the iPhone is easy. The internet and txt messaging are
the challenges for me. And I learned early on that Apple failed to include
a simple way to close web pages. I have a book coming tomorrow to teach an
old dog a few of the new tricks. :-)
