I think the big difference is population. There are 3-4 billion more 
people in the world since I was born! Historically the haves took as 
they do now but there was always something or somewhere for the 
have-nots. Now it is sinking in that the pie is not infinite. The 
current refugee crisis was predicted in the '70's or before.
