For those who don't know the history of what is now called the Olympus
OM system the first camera of the series (what is now called the OM-1)
was originally marketed as the M-1. The M-1 was only on the market for
a short time before Leitz objected saying they owned the name based on
the Leica M1 of 1959. Olympus backed off and changed the name from M-1
to OM-1. A small number of cameras did hit the streets with the M-1
name and today these are very expensive collectors items.
The heritage of the name continues in the mirrorless line with the
current professional model known as the OM-D E-M1.

I've tried to standardise names but there maybe
discrepancies, for instance, the early Olympus camera was first marketed
as an M-1, but can also be listed as an OM-1 or even OM1.
