Hi Jim,             Various sponsors have kept the machine flying (costs over 
2,000,000 per year) It has been decided that due to lack of availability of 
spares, expertise,and airframe and components being way beyond designed life 
expectancy, it is time to pull the plug! As you correctly surmised it is

Sounds like a great sight.  These types of A/C are very expensive to 
maintain in flying condition.  Unless some well-heeled sponsor can be 
found, they will slowly fade away to museums.
