We need to carry the lessons of previous wars, but we don't need to carry
the animosity. That said, I understand--as you do--why some people can't
abide German or Japanese products. For the same reasons, I suspect a lot of
people in the Middle East will have a hard time buying American-made
stuff--if there's any of that left.

I like BMWs, too. But I drive Japanese, though I believe both of them were
made in this country.
