      They do turn nice colours in the fall.  We have a similar variety out 
here called Thicket Creeper (Parthenocissus vitacea syn. P. inserta):

It differs from Virginia Creeper in that it lacks the adhesive pads at the end 
of the tendrils, so if you grow it you have to provide a trellis.
