I don't think I've ever used Photoshop for focus stacking but, after looking at the price of Zerene stacker I think I'll learn the Photoshop way.

ps: I think the first image in the first link could be done full frame with a single shot at f/11. Or, if I'm misjudging the distance to the tree trunk then certainly one shot with f/16. But it does require that you know where to focus to make full use of the hyperfocal distance.

Same kettle, just slightly different  but closely  related genus of fish.  I've done it a 
few times but can be a pain if wind is blowing w/o zerene stacker to easily remove 
artifacts---can pick sharpest image and "erase"
the one chosen by the software with very little work.  Can so the same in PS of 
course. Even stacked a few tilted first with my OM Mirex T-S adapter for Mamiya.
