Yes, Li-ion fires are truly dangerous. They can be cooled by water but
not extinguished with water. Li-ion wins for cars because the energy
density is much higher than NiMH... just don't crash it.

I had one Samsung phone battery get pregnant. But otherwise, they've

This makes me wonder why I would want a vehicle with a LiON battery
pack in it. Our Prius uses the less sexy NiMH cells, which behave well
and last forever.
