Some time ago I set aside the idea of acquiring an E-520 body because they
were just too expensive on the second-hand market. This morning I happened to
take a look at that saved evilBay search and there it was: Body, battery, and
charger at a $95 Buy It Now or Best Offer listing from a mainstream seller. It
had been listed for less than an hour, and I got it for $90, which is a lot
less expensive than I had seen before.
Okay, it's not an E-1. But I've been pretty happy with the E-500,
especially with the RAW TIFF and the monochrome RAW recording options.
However, not being able to used a cabled remote is a slight handicap and the
E-510 body I bought two years ago has a couple of internal problems, one being
a partially broken micro-USB connector that won't let me use a cabled remote.
So, I have a really fancy programmable remote that has been gathering dust.
It will be interesting to compare E-520 11M ORF photos with E-500 24M TIFF
RAW photos.
