I am currently leaving the camera(s) in MF and just pressing the A(E)(L)
button to focus and refocus when necessary the XT100 has an AEL button
the X-T1 has both an AE and AL button

I'll press the AEL button to focus to the estimated hyperfocal
distance and than keep my fingers off the focus button.
