Everything is blue or turquoise - all of the mosques are tiled with blue
mosaics. Wiki says The color *Persian blue* is named from the blue color
of some Persian pottery
<https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Iranian_pottery&action=edit&redlink=1>
 and the color of tiles <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tile> used in
and on mosques
and palaces <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iranian_architecture> in Iran
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran> and in other places in the Middle East.
 *Persian blue* is a representation of the color of the mineral lapis lazuli
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lapis_lazuli> which comes from Persia
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran> and Afghanistan
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afghanistan>. (The color azure
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azure_(color)> is also named after the
mineral lapis lazuli.)

The first recorded use of *Persian blue* as a color name in English
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/English_language> was in 1669.

Thanks!
