UV filters. Moose brings up a good point on UV filters. While I don't
totally agree with his assessment, I've certainly seen where UV
sensitivity in digital is greater than the human eye, but I wouldn't
put it above most films. Or maybe he is on to something. Would a UV
filter help de-blue shadows in normal daylight more?

I was being much narrower. I knew this stuff in theory before, Then that minister from Canada who did missionary work in the Andes (and whose name escapes me at the moment) posted a bunch of images from above 10,000 ft. (up to 14,000+?) - and asked if there was a way to correct the excessive blue and off colors. And they were often WAY off.

I knew in theory that there wasn't a solution, but nevertheless took a shot at it. With Lots & LOTS of PS work, an individual image can be pretty well saved, but it's got to be a damn important one.

A side note is that over filtering out of blue IS correctable fairly easily - especially if one is careful to take a shot of a neutral subject at each altitude, and probably each day.
