The Buddleia bush is blooming, but butterflies are few. However, a few bees are finding the bush attractive. First, a small Bumble Bee was patiently making its rounds. These have been scarce in recent years, but seem to be returning.

A small green bee was also working the blooms. I have not observed this variety previously, but it may be what is known as a small green sweat bee. There are many varieties.

In our wanderings, I see a lot of different species of both bumble and honey bees, but I've not seen a green bee like that. Rather jewel like.

In the garden the other day I watched a moderate sized bumbler and two different honeys. One honey had a short abdomen that stayed quiet. The other had a long abdomen that was in constant motion, like it was dancing to the beat of the music in its headphones. :-)
