I knew that was the original concept, when I tested the proposed configuration in a Wright Field wind tunnel, many moons ago. Thanks for the confirmation.

Our test model had a mechanical failure during conversion on one occasion, allowing one rotor to convert while the other remained where it was. That was a "real" emergency situation.
