Another 3rd party oddball. Nykon had something similar but altered spherical
aberrations to achieve soft focus --changed bokeh as well. Sony has a 135 STF.
Fuji of course has a portrait length lens with the apodization option.

The bokeh on the non APD is pretty durn nice anyway. They don't provide the
continuous adjustment of the "secondary aperture" T stop control that the Laowa
provide.

See: http://www.photozone.de/canon_eos_ff/978-laowa105f2stf?start=1

One can compare the bokeh effects of aperture/Tstops.

Curiously the bokeh changes when changes the Tstop but same F stop. It looks
smoother at T3.2--perhaps that is why Fuji leaves that control off?
Presumptively dof not affected by this "Tstop control" It can't be exactly
equivalent to a ND filter as the bokeh changes ---perhaps useful for video.

I suppose for Sonny A7RII one could get a non-native mount and put on a
Techartpro adapter to make it autofocus of sorts.

Options are good, Mike

 PS Off to Switz. tomorrow.
