About the same height. About 7 inches wider, which would be quite welcome.
Width is the toughest constraint on designing conversions within the

I've seen a couple of those with 4WD. Now we're talking! I have no
desire for campgrounds. I like to get into the back-country a bit, but
some of the best spots need ground clearance and lockers.

Might you be confusing vehicles for tent camping in the wilds with RVs? RV's need to be parked pretty level when living in them.

Sleeping on a slant is troublesome. Many of the amenities require relative level to be used, water tanks, toilet, sink, and stove top. The refrigerators don't operate properly at more than a rather modest slant. Some of those macho RVs may look tough, but they too won't be useful unless parked on the level.

By lockers, you mean for the bears? So far, it seems that bears don't break into RVs. I've checked with rangers where bears are a problem, and will easily tear doors off cars to get at food, and all so far have said they don't trouble RVs. My theory is that they smell like human poop to sensitive bear noses, and they don't want to go in there.

We have camped where bears are trouble with fridge and cupboards full of food,
without any sign of trouble.
